Director Roger Vadim failed in his comeback with this soft-core epic muddled by pretentious psychoanalysis. Vadim "discovery" Cindy Pickett (she did lots of American TV before this, her film debut) plays a disturbed Beverly Hills housewife whose memories of a childhood rape have scared her off sex. This threatens to ruin her marriage. Pickett takes refuge in elaborate sexual fantasies in which she makes love in unlikely locations with several different men clothed in increasingly silly costumes. The fantasies, which are neither interesting nor erotic, form the main portion of the film and are its only excuse for existing. leave a comment
