Shot in the Philippines by New York experimental filmmaker and Andy Warhol devotee Andrew Meyer, NIGHT OF THE COBRA WOMAN was made under the auspices of Roger Corman's New World Pictures. Clark, a jungle priestess, needs both the venom of cobras and constant sexual activity to remain young and to keep from becoming a cobra herself. Biology student Bang (a Warhol favorite) is somewhat dismayed when her boy friend, Garrett, is seduced by Clark and becomes one of her minions. Exhausted by all the lovemaking, Garrett is forced to enlist other young men to satisfy the cobra woman--all of whom turn into skeletons after she's done with them. Filmed in "Slitherama," this silly movie has its share of laughs--intentional and unintentional--but isn't particularly scary. leave a comment
