Made for German television, this solid documentary reconstructs the short life and strange career of '60s cult figure Nico, a proper German schoolgirl who grew up to be an international model, Velvet Underground frontwoman and Warhol superstar. Tales of drugs 'n' decadence
abound, but German filmmaker Susan Ofteringer admirably refuses to moralize. Plenty of rare concert footage should gratify Velvet enthusiasts; others may prefer to wait for video.
