This independent production attempts to make skid row the setting for an overly sentimental and indulgent dissertation on an individual's responsibility for his own fate. Donald Moffat plays a reformed drunk who has worked himself out of the gutter, only to have to face this hopeless lifestyle once again when his good pal Ralph Waite is in trouble.
