Sappy romance has Fox as a flapper persuaded by her money-seeking mother to ignore her love for Gleason and marry self-made millionaire Mowbray. The story is dull and plodding, with the characterizations unrelated to anything resembling genuine human personalities. The luscious sets and the
photography are a plus, but Knopf can't seem to decide if this is a comedy or a drama, and the film suffers as a result.
