Routine soldiers-versus-Indians action film has Ayres as the captain of a cavalry unit sent to stop an Indian uprising. The Indians, lead by chief de Corsia, are upset over the white man's breaking a treaty de Corsia had signed with President Lincoln. Though Ayres is friends with de Corsia
and sympathetic toward his demands, he must still follow orders. The cavalry unit holes up on top of a mesa, the Indians surround them, and a murderous battle ensues. The direction handles the action sequences extremely well, putting more than the usual emphasis on the violence and gore of the
battle. Maxwell sings "Soldier, Soldier, Won't You Marry Me?"
