Pure propaganda, and typical of the Soviet Realism school of this time, the film stars Chirkov as the perfect example of a proletarian. He has risen from peasant status to become a banker, and his wife, Kibardina, is no simple housewife, but the chairman of the Communist Party in Petrograd.
The picture is a follow-up to THE LIFE OF MAXIM, which traced the earlier years of the same character. (In Russian; English subtitles.)
