A star-studded musical revue with a barely visible plot about an angry creditor from Texas who is determined to close the curtains on a Broadway show. The cast, however, is equally determined to keep it open and continues singing, dancing, and telling jokes. Drawn from a 1952 Broadway revue, NEW FACES features an almost nonstop array of tunes including Kitt's smash hits, "C'est Si Bon" (Henri Betti, Jerry Seelen), "Santa Baby" (Joan Javits, Phil Springer, Tony Springer), "Uskadara" (Stella Lee), and "Monotonous" (June Carroll, Ronny Graham, Arthur Siegel). Other songs include "Bal Petit Bal" (sung by Eartha Kitt, Robert Clary), "Boston Beguine" (Sheldon M. Harnick, sung by Ghostley), "I'm in Love with Miss Logan" (Ronny Graham, sung by Clary), "Penny Candy" (June Carroll, Arthur Siegel, sung by Carroll), and "Time for Tea" (sung by Ghostley, Carroll). Writer Melvin Brooks later became director Mel Brooks. leave a comment
