This caper-tragedy uses a complicated structure of RASHOMON-like flashbacks to relate the saga of a bungled kidnapping. In league with the vicious Hellman (Joe Pantoliano), henchman Danny White (Nick Moran) was supposed to snatch wealthy Mr. Williams (Rob Freeman), force him to videotape a warning to other businessmen who double-crossed Danny's boss, collect the ransom, and kill Williams anyway. Due to dishonor among thieves — and Williams's slick machinations — the plan has fallen apart. Wounded henchman Danny winds up on the doorstep of his estranged father Alan (John Hurt).
