The Neon Bible: Review

In this dreamy, often compelling adaptation of a novel by John Kennedy Toole, a wildly dysfunctional family in rural Georgia reckons with the eccentric ways of visiting Aunt Mae (Gena Rowlands), whose spirited approach to life is a revelation to the introverted boy (Jacob Tierney) who tells the story. It sounds like an overfamiliar brand of Southern Gothic, but British director Terence Davies (DISTANT VOICES, STILL LIVES) adds some distinctive touches of visual poetry. leave a comment
