Bizarre and very different film that deals with sexual fantasy and death. An unmarried couple, Jackson and McEnery, can only satisfy themselves sexually if McEnery dresses up as an early 1900s murderer and Jackson as his wife. By chance, Cilento, a German photographer, gets some pictures during their little ritual and then moves into the apartment with them. All the time, McEnery's father is dying of cancer. McEnery is always depressed after their little sex game, while Jackson is exhilarated. Cilento starts feeding McEnery the notion that he is a noted WW I flying ace, and McEnery starts slipping deeper and deeper into that role. Jackson wants in on his solitary fantasy, but McEnery responds with violence. As McEnery fights an imaginary foe, Cilento announces that she is leaving. The strange last shot has a bleeding McEnery slumped over in the vintage plane that he installed on the roof. leave a comment
