Up To His Neck

This tepid remake of JACK AHOY! (1934) stars Shiner as a sailor in the British Royal Navy who is left alone on a South Sea island to guard supplies. Ten years later, everyone has forgotten him and he has been made king of the island by the natives. Eventually the navy realizes that he's been left there and a ship is sent to the island to save him. Shiner doesn't want to be saved, however, but he is ordered to train some navy jungle commandos who have been assigned to recapture a submarine that was stolen by bandits. Shiner is soon captured by the baddies, but his native girl friend, Raki, comes to his rescue and the sub is recovered.
