Cynical story of a young cad, Henry, who finally settles down with the "right" girl, even though his good-for-nothing friend has impregnated her. Resenting the newborn child, his wife, and his basic existence, Henry begins to take an interest in other women. Despite its careful rendering of the British working-class milieu, this film is too cold and bleak for its own good. leave a comment
