This is an almost surrealistic war film that did big box-office business. Cooper, Baer, and Arnaz are sailors on a decrepit freighter that nearly destroys the Nazi naval fleet. The sharp captain and his gutty crew sink submarines and ships and shoot down planes throughout the film. Much
