As Happy Feet ($17.05 million) and Casino Royale ($15.1 million) retained the top two spots for a third straight week bringing their respective to-date totals to $121 mil and $115.9 mil Déjà Vu ($11 mil) placed third at this weekend's box office. Rounding out the top five were The Nativity Story (delivering $8 million in its debut) and Deck the Halls ($6.6 mil). Among other new releases, Turistas ($3.5 million) came in eighth, and Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj ($2.3 mil) was No. 10.

Although the Pope himself was unable to attend (presumably, he was caught up watching his Giants blow a 21-0 lead), The Nativity Story's Sunday world premiere at the Vatican was met with strong praise by the pontiff's No. 2. "It is well done," Reuters quotes secretary of state Tarciso Cardinal Bertone as saying. "It re-proposes this event... with realism, but also with a great respect of the mystery of the Nativity."And do not get him started on the bloopers shown during the closing credits.
