A remake of IT'S A DATE (1940), which starred Deanna Durbin, NANCY GOES TO RIO features Sothern and Powell as a mother and daughter vying for the same part in a play and the same man--Sullivan. Sothern goes to Rio to ready herself for a part in a new play and Powell follows, revealing the news that she got the part.
