The Naked Zoo: Review

It is sad to see Hayworth winding down her career in this misguided effort (she would make just one more film before illness forced her retirement). The film is set in Miami where Hayworth lives with Rainey, her crippled millionaire husband. She has an affair with young writer Oliver, and provides him with funds to support his activities, which include hosting LSD parties. Rainey discovers the affair and Oliver kills him in a struggle. Police believe the death was accidental, and Hayworth threatens to tell them otherwise unless Oliver ministers to her needs. He eventually murders her, then has an affair with her daughter, Spain, who kills him at the film's end. The movie had a limited release, a fate it richly deserves. The Rock group Canned Heat and 1960s pop singer Steve Alaimo provide some music. leave a comment
