In 1941 Eaton arrives on the island of Crete just ahead of the Nazi invasion. She wants to get her archaeologist father, Nurk, off the island and to England before it is too late. The Nazis invade the island soon after, and Nurk is killed. Eaton finds refuge with an all-female force of
