The "Eye of the Daughter of the Moon" is the largest star sapphire in the world. Stolen from China, it comes into the possession of gem collector Brendan Edwards (Wallace), who has obtained it through nefarious means, and now his life is in danger. He receives a letter with a death threat and calls in Mr. Wong (Karloff), explaining that should he die, the letter will give important clues to the murderer's identity. Later, during a game of charades, the lights go out and Edwards is shot, leaving Mr. Wong and Inspector Street (Withers) to solve the murder. This, the second film in the "Mr. Wong" series, is an evenly paced mystery directed by William Nigh with his usual low-budget flair. leave a comment
