A banker invites some colleagues to his hunting lodge in order to discover who has been embezzling funds. When he's murdered, his daughter (Nagel) calls in private eye Purcell. It seems everyone's the killer as more bodies pile up until Purcell at last finds the murderer. In an unusual
twist, he doesn't romance the daughter at all. She quietly fades out of the picture while he makes time with Sheridan, a nurse. Even so, this is an unimaginative film. The plot is confusing, with too many loose ends and unexplained motivations. The direction is as dead as one of the many corpses
Purcell stumbles on.
