Think AIR BUD, with a hockey-playing chimp. And while it's as predictable as a Nancy Drew novel, the movie's sweet and sort of cute — watch and see if it doesn't kind of sneak up on you, you big cynic. Jack is a chimp that's been taught sign language by kindly Dr. Kendall (Lomax Study), of Pueblo University, located somewhere in Southern California. Kendall plans to return Jack to the El Simian Nature Preserve, where he was born, but before he can finalize the arrangements, Kendall has a fatal heart attack.
