The Three Musketeers: Review

Director Allan Dwan had some fun with Dumas' original by turning the swashbuckling D'Artagnan into a singing D'Artagnan, played with jubilation by Ameche. His fearless "musketeers," phonies all, are the funny Ritz Brothers, who have to struggle to get the laughs. It's fun but lacking as a true swashbuckler. Songs include: "My Lady," "Song of the Musketeers," "Voila," "Chicken Soup" (Samuel Pokrass, Walter Bullock). leave a comment
