Murder With Pictures

Mobsters place one of their own as an undercover cameraman on a big-city newspaper. The pseudo-photojournalist (Nace) is equipped with a dummy camera that contains a gun with a silencer. Ayres is a go-getter youngster investigating a suicide and double murder that has landed Patrick, his love interest, in jail. Though the dialog is crisp and natural, the script ultimately drags because of a poorly constructed plot and a lack of emphasis when needed. The actors manage to get through the film well, though, with believable performances that almost cover the highly significant holes in the plot.
