Sublimely silly, but for fans of the absurd Neil Simon's spoof of the great film detectives offers consistently funny, often hysterical entertainment. Wealthy Lionel Twain (Truman Capote in his film debut) invites the world's greatest detectives — hilarious counterparts to Miss Marple (Elsa Lanchester), Nick and Nora Charles (David Niven, Maggie Smith), Sam Spade (Peter Falk), Hercule Poirot (James Coco) and Charlie Chan (Peter Sellers) — to his creepy home, only to hold them prisoner and try to knock them off one by one.
