Muppets and munchkins make strange bedfellows in this umpteenth retelling of Frank L. Baum’s immortal story. Miss Piggy's Dark Confessions

We always thought of Miss Piggy's golden locks as being kind of like the ages of Bart and Lisa Simpson or the recipe for Coca-Cola Classic — perfect and unchanging. Then, the natural-born trendsetter went and dyed her fair hair brown, setting off shock waves that continue to reverberate within the style-conscious entertainment community. Why did she do it, and where will the fallout end? To find out, TVGuide.com questioned the formerly blonde bombshell, and in so doing dared to light her notoriously short fuse.TVGuide.com: After all these years as a golden girl, what inspired you to dye your hair? Or are you a natural brunette?Miss Piggy: Why the change? It was bold. It was different. It was dark, and I couldn't see what I was doing. As for moi's natural hair color, I hear Dan Brown is working on a new book called The Diva Code to get the answer to that one. Ashanti's Oz Preview

For her feature-film debut in Coach Carter (opening Friday), R&B idol Ashanti got to work with both Samuel L. Jackson and Finding Forrester star Rob Brown. But her preferred leading man is the one she shares the screen with in her next movie, The Muppets' Wizard of Oz. "I'd have to say that Pepe the Shrimp is my favorite costar," the 24-year-old fledgling actress laughs. "He had a wonderful personality." In case you're confused, no, Pepe is definitely not playing Ashanti's love interest in the made-for-TV movie, which is set to air in May on ABC. Instead, the hyperactive shellfish plays Toto to his leading lady's Dorothy. Naturally, he's not the only familiar Muppet face who turns up in Oz. Gonzo appears as the Tin Man (or the Tin Thing, as he's called in the film), Fozzie is the Cowardly Lion and everyone's favorite green thespian, Kermit, takes on the role of the Scarecrow. As for Miss Piggy, she steals th read more

Miss Piggy Travels to Oz

Someone alert the Lollipop Guild: Miss Piggy's coming to town — and she's brandishing a broomstick! This May, ABC will air The Muppets' Wonderful Wizard of Oz, a two-hour twist on the classic fable that casts Kermit as the Scarecrow, Gonzo as the Tin Man, Fozzie as the Cowardly Lion and Miss Piggy — in a tour de force that is already garnering Emmy buzz — as all four witches. During a break in filming, the ageless beauty chatted with TV Guide Online about her latest acting challenge and rumors that the Vancouver set wasn't big enough for her and pop star Ashanti, who stars as Dorothy.TV Guide Online: Did you have a favorite witch?Miss Piggy: It is so difficult to choose a favorite when moi is so exquisitely good as all four witches. But I must admit that after years of playing the adorable ingenue in my movies, it was a lot of fun to play that bad girl, The Wicked Witch of the West. Of course, it was difficult for someone as read more
