Boring melodrama has Barry--not the Joan Barry responsible for the scandalous paternity suit against Charles Chaplin in 1944--fleeing scandal in Monte Carlo by coming to England and adopting the name of a dead cousin. She falls in love with James, the son of Judge Gill, who refuses
permission for them to marry until finally he takes pity on her and lets the marriage proceed. The end of the road for Barry's career, after starring in Hitchcock's RICH AND STRANGE only the year before.
