A tiresome, awkwardly directed farce that squanders the talents of its appealing stars. Sitcom actress Ellen DeGeneres plays a single woman who's desperate for romance; Bill Pullman is a dream date who turns out to be a nightmare. As he pursues her with increasingly
desperate acts of derring-do, the movie begins to feel like a wildly misconceived satire of sexual harassment. We were not amused.
