Ford stars as a hunted gambler who has robbed a gambling institution of money he considers rightfully his. He takes refuge in a settlement house run by social worker Keyes, who mistakes Ford for a wife-beater. The two eventually fall in love, with Ford devoting himself to helping the underprivileged.
