The last of the "Mr. Moto" series to star Lorre, who admitted dissatisfaction with the role, this picture doesn't have the appeal of the earlier films. Lorre is out to safeguard a priceless gem recently excavated from an Egyptian site. Pretending to be on vacation, Lorre makes his way to
San Francisco, where the gem is to be on display. His fears turn out to be correct when a notorious international criminal (Schildkraut) whom Lorre figured would try to steal the gem does so. Schildkraut, a master of disguises, poses as a philanthropist and backer of the expedition. Overall the
