Forget Adam Sandler's coarse and insincere remake: This is the real deal. It's a shamelessly simple story, but it's handled with such charm and acted so well by Gary Cooper and Jean Arthur that it stands as another Frank Capra classic. Cooper plays a rural rube from Vermont who inherits his uncle's vast fortune and becomes national news. Arthur costars as the cynical big-city reporter who's assigned to get the real story behind his small-town image. Read the complete review for Mr. Deeds Goes To Town
