Dull situation-type comedy has Erwin as a statistician who wins a bundle of money by coming closest in his guess of the number of beans in a barrel. With the money he decides to do something other than his usual line of work and buys a barrel factory. Problems arise with keeping Marshall's pickle factory open when slickster Byron tries to keep this from happening. The usual types of romantic situations develop with small-town girl Chandler getting a crush on Erwin, while he gets the hots for Wing.
