Terminator Will Be Back ... for a Fifth Film

Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 3

Terminator Salvation hasn't hit theaters yet, but producers are already plotting a fifth flick in the robot apocalypse franchise.

Halycon Co.'s David Anderson and Victor Kubicek, who purchased the series last year to start a trilogy re-boot, are developing the film with McG, who directed Salvation, Variety reports.

"We feel the time is now to start shaping the next part of this," Kubicek said, adding that he and Anderson were compelled to expedite the sequel following positive reaction to footage and trailers (including a digital movie poster) to Salvation.

The duo is eyeing a 2011 release date.

Christian Bale, who signed a three-picture deal with Halycon, stars as John Connor in Salvation, which opens May 22.
