Robocop Reboot to Hit the Big Screen in 2010

Just as Warner Bros.' Batman franchise is flying high once again, MGM is hoping to reboot one of its action tentploles.
According to Variety, the studio is fast-tracking a new
Robocop picture for a 2010 release, with
Darren Aaronofsky (
Requiem for a Dream,
The Fountain) directing a script written by David Self. The original film, which debuted in 1987 and spawned two sequels, focused on a fatally wounded cop who returns to the force in cyborg form.
The studio is mum on the details, but some have suggested the new film will take a noir approach. What do you think? Are your excited for more "part man, part machine, all cop" action? -
