Lindsay Lohan, FNL's Britton Go into Labor

Lindsay Lohan soon will be feeling Labor Pains, fronting a film comedy as a young woman who, fearing she is about to lose her job, lies about being pregnant. The fib effectively turns her luck around, but (duh!) comes with complications. "It is a very different role for me and I look forward to the challenges it will present," Lohan tells Variety. "And I love working on comedies."

Lohan recently has dropped out of some film projects as personal problems dogged her. Said issues also made some execs wary of casting her. Labor Pains producer Rick Schwartz, however, says the actress has yet to let him down. "I didn't know Lindsay before this, but we looked each other in the eye three months ago, and she has done everything I could have asked," he tells the trade.

Friday Night Lights' Connie Britton - as well as Dr. Spaceman himself, Chris Parnell - will star opposite Lohan. Filming starts June 9. - Matt Mitovich
