The Nightcomers (1971) is the story of Quint and Miss Jessel. Brando plays Quint and Stephanie Beacham plays Miss Jessel. Both characters are dead by the time The Turn of the Screw begins, which tells you that their S&M-tinged relationship doesn't end well.
