Katharine McPhee Lands Starring Role in New Story

Katharine McPhee is clearly upping the ante in her burgeoning film career. The former
Idol star just nabbed the lead in
The Storyteller, an upcoming psychological drama.
McPhee will play an assistant to a writer (
Wes Bentley) who goes swiftly downhill after his father passes away. As Bentley's character spirals downward, his assistant starts to question whether his muse - who's also the narrator of his stories - is just part of his imagination, says the
Reporter. Robert Angelo Masciantonio will direct.
McPhee's latest scenes on the big screen are in the upcoming
Anna Faris comedy,
The House Bunny. Will the singer be able to make a dramatic transition?
