Hayden Panettiere Signs On to Kiss, Alpha

Heroes star Hayden Panettiere has signed on for roles in two upcoming movies.

Fox Atomic is developing an adaptation of Rachel Cohn and David Levithan's novel Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List, Variety reports. Panettiere will play Naomi, a New Yorker who, to protect her close friendship with her gay pal Ely, creates a list of people the BFFs can't lock lips with. The friendship becomes strained, however, when Ely plants a big one on Naomi's boyfriend.

She'll also be featured in the animated family movie Alpha and Omega as the voice of Alpha, a disciplined, by-the-book wolf who often bickers with her counterpart, the more fun-loving Omega wolf, voiced by Justin Long.

After being separated from the pack, the two eventually find love amid their arguing. The movie is scheduled for release in 2010. - J.R. Whalen, additional reporting by Adam Bryant
