Harry Potter to Hit IMAX Two Weeks Late

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Harry Potter fans looking to take in their favorite wizard's latest adventure on the huge IMAX screen will have to wait two weeks longer than everyone else.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince opens July 14, but the flick won't hit most IMAX screens until July 29, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Only two theaters — one each in New York and Los Angeles — will carry the super-sized version on opening day.
The delay is the latest fallout from Warner Bros.' decision to postpone Potter's original November 2008 release date. The July opening conflicts with IMAX's existing monthlong agreement with Paramount to carry Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
Executives remain hopeful, however, that the 12 minutes of 3-D footage only available in the IMAX version of the film will still draw a crowd of Potter faithfuls and/or repeat viewers looking for the fuller experience.
