Third Twilight Film Finds Its Director

David Slade

Production on the Twilight sequel New Moon has just gotten under way, but the series' producers are already looking ahead to the third installment.

Summit Entertainment has picked David Slade to direct The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Slade succeeds Catherine Hardwicke and Chris Weitz, who directed the first and second Twilight films, respectively. Melissa Rosenberg returns to write her third Twilight screenplay.

Slade has previously directed Hard Candy and the 2007 horror flick 30 Days of Night.

Eclipse, which is currently set to hit theaters on June 30, 2010, tells the story of Bella being forced to choose between Edward and Jacob.
