Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
The weekend forecast was very good for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs as the 3-D animated film easily topped the box office with $30.1 million.
The family comedy, based on the 1978 children's book by Judi and Ron Barrett, grossed nearly $20 million more than its closest competitor: Matt Damon's The Informant!, which debuted in second place with $10.5 million.

Last week's top earner, Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself, fell to third place with $10 million, bringing its two-week total to $37.9 million.
The weekend's other two new releases slipped failed to make much of a statement: Jennifer Aniston's umpteenth romantic comedy, Love Happens, opened in fourth place to $8.4 million, while Megan Fox's horror flick, Jennifer's Body, was buried in fifth place with $6.8 million.

Rounding out the top 10 were: 9 (No. 6, $5.4 million); Inglourious Basterds (No. 7, $3.6 million); All About Steve (No. 8, $3.4 million); Sorority Row (No. 9, $2.4 million); and The Final Destination (No. 10; $2.3 million).
