Box Office: You Don't Mess with the Panda

Kung Fu Panda wok'd the weekend box office, earning $60 million in its debut. That effectively outpaced the other big premiere, Adam Sandler's
You Don't Mess with the Zohan, which opened with $40 mil.
Rounding out the weekend's top five were
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ($22.8 million; $253 mil to date),
Sex and the City ($21.3 mil) and
The Strangers ($9.3 mil).
The top 12 films took in $172.4 million, marking a 32 percent improvement over a year ago, when
Ocean's Thirteen placed No. 1 with a $36.1 million haul.
