Mel Gibson Ends Six-Year Movie Absence

Mel Gibson will star in Edge of Darkness as a police investigator trying to solve the murder of his daughter.

The film is based on a 1985 BBC miniseries. Martin Campbell directed the series and is calling the shots on the movie as well.

This is Gibson's first starring role since Signs and We Were Soldiers, both of which were released in 2002.
