Question: I've been hearing rumors that someone's making a movie based on Dan Brown's best-seller The Da Vinci Code. Do you have any info?

Answer: Ron Howard is directing the movie version of The Da Vinci Code, a thriller that hinges on a conspiracy to cover up the marriage of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene. Frequent Howard collaborator Tom Hanks stars as symbologist Robert Langdon (he's rather older and less athletic than I saw the character, but perhaps that's just me); Audrey Tautou as Sophie Neveu, the granddaughter of the Louvre curator whose murder begins the story; and Paul Bettany as the murderous albino Silas. The international cast also includes Jean Reno, Alfred Molina, Ian McKellen and J├╝rgen Prochnow. Principal photography in France and England wrapped in October 2005, and the film is scheduled for release in May 2006.
