Question: I've been hearing rumors that someone's making a movie based on Dan Brown's best-seller The Da Vinci Code. Do you have any info?

Answer: Ron Howard is directing the movie version of The Da Vinci Code, a thriller that hinges on a conspiracy to cover up the marriage of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene. Frequent Howard collaborator Tom Hanks stars as symbologist Robert Langdon (he's rather older and less athletic than I saw the character, but perhaps that's just me); Audrey Tautou as Sophie Neveu, the granddaughter of the Louvre curator whose murder begins the story; and Paul Bettany as the murderous albino Silas. The international cast also includes Jean Reno, Alfred Molina, Ian McKellen and Jürgen Prochnow. Principal photography in France and England wrapped in October 2005, and the film is scheduled for release in May 2006.
