Expect two Greek mythology blockbusters to hit theaters next year. In the meantime, there's a good ol' fashioned chariot race in Hollywood to the production finish line.
Variety says Relativity Media is prepping
War of Gods, about Theseus, a young warrior prince leading his soldiers in battle againt demons and titans. The
Tarsem Singh-directed film is due to start production later this year.
Meanwhile, Warner Brothers has tapped
Incredible Hulk director
Louis Leterrier to helm a remake of
Clash of the Titans, where Perseus fights to save his princess Andromeda by, among other things, cutting off the head of serpent-slash-bad gal Medusa.
Ironically, Warners once had an interest in
Gods, but then focused its efforts on
Titans when it was able to bring Leterrier on board. -
