For
David Duchovny and
Tea Leoni, the couple that produces together makes rock 'n' roll music together and CBS Films is helping them make it happen by nabbing a spec comedy from the married duo's And Then Prods.
Born to Rock, according to
The Hollywood Reporter, centers around a group of struggling, aging rock musicians who end up catching a record executive's ear for a children's song written on a whim. Fortunately, or not, the group finds unlikely success as a Wiggles-type children's band. (Editor's note: Please tell me I will not see David Duchovny in a cameo dressed in purple overalls strumming a fake ukulele).
Duchovny, who recently wrapped the second season of
Californication, thinks of the project as "rock 'n' roll meets the sippy cup crowd," and said the mix of older musicians playing youth-oriented music "speaks to a cultural phenomenon that is happening right now in music."
