Answer: I vividly remember seeing this movie when it debuted in the ABC Movie of the Week slot: Directed by Curtis Harrington and scripted by Robert Bloch, it was called The Cat Creature (1973) and starred Meredith Baxter Birney as a resurrected Egyptian priestess of a cat cult turned loose on modern-day Los Angeles when a sacred amulet is stolen from her dessicated corpse. The cast of this affectionate homage to '40s horror pictures included old timers Gale Sondergaard and David Hedison, along with Stuart Whitman and Peter Lorre Jr.
