A comic and perverse social commentary from Makavejev (WR: MYSTERIES OF THE ORGANISM) on the animalistic nature of man, MONTENEGRO tells the story of Anspach, a dejected American housewife living in Sweden with wealthy husband Josephson, their two children, and a grandfather who thinks he's Buffalo Bill. When Josephson goes on another business trip (his 23rd that year), Anspach rushes to meet him at the airport. Detained by customs, she meets a young girl from Yugoslavia who is smuggling alcohol and a dead pig into the country. The pair become friendly and, when Anspach can't locate Josephson, she goes off with the girl. Along the way they pick up a man with a knif...
