Jerry Lewis returns in this picture to the kind of slapstick and craziness that won him such popularity in his earlier films. He plays an aspiring private eye who, with his friend, White, watches a TV newscast where spinster Questel offers a reward to locate her missing nephew, heir to a billion-dollar electronics empire. Lewis goes to Questel's mansion and is identified as the missing nephew by Questel's money-grabbing attorney, Scott. Scott tries to kill Lewis in several slapstick ways, but Lewis bounces back from these attempts in a typically zany manner. Family nurse O'Brien recognizes that Lewis is the heir and informs the confused dope. Scott beefs up his murder attempts, nearly succeeding in his plot by letting loose a barrage of lawn mowers. However, a happy ending is had as the crooks are apprehended and Lewis gets his fortune plus O'Brien. leave a comment
