In The Money

This final Bowery Boys outing offers a few scenes that are representative of the series' humor but lack the punch of the earlier films. Hall is hired by diamond smugglers to escort their poodle on a trans-Atlantic cruise. Believing they are decent people, Hall defends them from Scotland Yard detectives who have accused them of being crooks. With the entire Bowery gang on board as stowaways and the smugglers on board to oversee the operation, the search for the diamonds becomes a tangled mess. The boys eventually discover that a small cache of the gems on the dog. A disappointing wrap-up for a wonderful era of comedy.
