This unfunny farce has Cummins as a woman due to inherit a large sum only if she is widowed or divorced. Hoping to find another way to make ends meet, Cummins and her husband, Sinden, take in a host of zany boarders. When none of these lodgers is able to come up with any scratch, the couple opt for divorce. They plan to remarry as soon as the money comes through, but complications arise, and though Sinden returns to the house, he does so as a rent-paying boarder.
